Congratulations to Assistant Chief Nate Post on his retirement. Chief Post served 33 years with South Kitsap Fire and Rescue starting as a resident firefighter and rising through the ranks to lead the Kitsap County Training Consortium. Best wishes in your retirement!
While we have a crew in California, we are still managing emergencies at home. Early yesterday evening, crews were dispatched to a reported Commercial Structure Fire (SFC) at a business in the Port Orchard Industrial Park. On arrival of the fire due apparatus, they found a working fire in a walk-in sandblasting locker. This in turn got the large filters involved, filled the warehouse with smoke. Crews extinguished quickly, spent the majority of the time working on clearing the warehouse of smoke. No injuries, fire isolated to the walk-in sand blasting cabinets. Mutual aid provided by Bremerton Fire Department. #southkitsapfirerescue #skfrcares #southkitsapfireandrescue #skfr #portorchard
