Cody Goodwin
Driven by an early calling to serve and a lifelong commitment to mastery, Deputy Chief Cody Goodwin has dedicated his career to strengthening South Kitsap Fire & Rescue. Beginning as an 18-year-old volunteer in 1991, Cody immersed himself in every aspect of the profession and has worked through all fire service ranks.
His commitment to team development led him to technical rescue, where he helped strengthen SKFR’s capabilities by becoming one of the department’s first technicians certified across all rescue disciplines — including rope, confined space, trench, heavy rescue, and building collapse operations
A dedicated student turned instructor, Cody has taught fire behavior and Fire Apparatus Operations statewide, nationally, and internationally. He takes pride in team-based accomplishments: mentoring colleagues into leadership roles, improving staffing and response efficiencies, and contributing to SKFR’s growth over his 30+ years.
Promoted to Deputy Chief of Emergency Services in 2023, Cody continues to apply a situational leadership style that empowers teams, protects the community, and supports personnel.
