This course is designed to prepare students in grades 6-8 to be safe when they are home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. In this course, students learn to practice safety skills, handle emergencies, care for children, and treat illnesses or injuries. This class includes CPR training (No Certification). Additionally, students develop business skills such as screening jobs, setting wages, and working with employers.

Child care basics and age-appropriate behavior management
How to screen and accept safe job requests
What to do in common household emergencies
Basic First aid and choking rescue skills
Professional work habits like reliability, communication, and preparedness
