Josh Hurguy
From Tuscon, AZ to Port Orchard, WA, Deputy Chief Josh Hurguy brings over 25 years of fire and emergency service experience having started his career in 1997 at a small private ambulance company. Originally drawn to medicine while pursuing his undergrad, Josh found his calling in emergency services — where every day offered a new challenge and the opportunity to improve someone’s life. He advanced quickly, serving as a Firefighter/Paramedic, Captain, Community Relations Manager and Public Information Officer, Battalion Chief, and Deputy Chief with Golder Ranch Fire District before joining SKFR.
Josh holds an Associate’s degree in Paramedicine, a Bachelor’s in Public Agency Service, a Master’s in Administration, and is a graduate of the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer Program.
Leading our Administrative Services, he is driven by a belief in service over recognition — building systems, developing opportunities and supporting people to leave a lasting, positive impact on our community behind the scenes. Josh is dedicated to improving the quality of life for those he serves and finds it most rewarding to help others achieve life-changing milestones in their careers.
